This checklist will walk you through the steps needed to create, and implement a new TikTok Manager. This process should be gone through every time you take on a new client and need to build their TikTok marketing and paid ads from scratch.

We start with making sure all the basics are complete. This means ensuring there is a TikTok page, a business manager account, and validating tracking pixels are properly configured.

Finally, we will touch on best practices for building your campaign creatives and sending them to us.

1. Record Setup

2. Create a Business Center

TikTok is a rapidly growing social media platform, and businesses can take advantage of its popularity to reach a wider audience. In order to create a TikTok Business Manager, follow the steps below:  

Sign in to TikTok Ads Manager and select "Business Manager" from the main menu. If you don't have an Ads Manager account yet, you will need to create one first.

  1. Click on the "Create" button, which will take you to a page where you can enter the name of your business and select the country it operates in. Make sure to enter the correct information so that your business is accurately identified.
  2. Once you have entered this information, click the "Create" button. This will create your Business Manager account.
  3. You will then be taken to the Business Manager dashboard, where you can connect your TikTok Ads account to your Business Manager. This is important because it will allow you to manage your ad campaigns from one central location.

3. Creating an Ad Account in Tikok

  1. Go to your TikTok Business Center and go under Assets and find Advertiser accounts, and then click Add advertiser account.
  2. Enter your Ad account information.
  3. And then click on create an advertiser account and then you will be ready to start running advertising campaigns in TikTok.

4. Connecting a TikTok account to the business center

Connecting your TikTok account to a Business Center can be done quickly and easily by scanning a QR code. Here's how to do it:

  1. Sign in to your TikTok Ads Manager account and select "Business Center" from the main menu.\
  2. Click on the "Connect Account" button.
  3. Click on the "Scan QR Code" button.
  4. Open the TikTok app on your mobile device and go to your profile page.
  5. Click on the three dots in the top right corner and select "Business Center" from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click on the "Scan" button and scan the QR code that appears on your computer screen.
  7. Once the QR code is scanned, your TikTok account will be connected to the Business Center.

5. Inviting members to Tik Tok business center

Inviting team members to your TikTok Business Center can help you collaborate on ad campaigns and manage your account more effectively. Here's how to do it:

  1. Sign in to your TikTok Business Center account and select "People" from the main menu.
  2. Click on the "Invite" button in the top right corner of the page.
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite and select the role you want to assign them (admin or member).
  4. Click on the "Send Invitation" button to send the invitation.

6. Connecting the pixel to a TikTok ad account

Connecting a TikTok Pixel to your TikTok Ad Account is a crucial step in tracking the performance of your ad campaigns. Here's how to do it:

  1. Sign in to your TikTok Ads Manager account and select "Pixel" from the main menu.
  2. Click on the "Create Pixel" button and enter a name for your Pixel.
  3. Select the type of Pixel you want to create. You can choose from Conversion Pixel, Retargeting Pixel, and Custom Audience Pixel.
  4. Follow the prompts to set up your Pixel. This will include entering your website URL and selecting the events you want to track.
  5. Once your Pixel is set up, click on the "Install Pixel" button to get the code.
  6. Copy the code and paste it into the header section of your website.
  7. Verify that your Pixel is working by going back to the TikTok Ads Manager and selecting "Pixel" from the main menu. You should see a green checkmark next to your Pixel if it is working correctly.

7. Review Current Budget

Make sure your budget is being properly spent.

Maintaining and properly allocating a budget is an effective cost control tool. There are two types of budgets: daily budgets and lifetime budgets. Daily budgets are the average amount you're willing to spend on an ad set or campaign every day, while lifetime budgets are the amount you're willing to spend over the entire run-time of your ad set or campaign.

Two ways to approach spending your budget are: standard delivery and accelerated delivery. If you choose standard delivery then your budget will be spent evenly over the course of the ad campaign. This is recommended. And if you choose accelerated delivery, your budget will be spent as quickly as possible.
